The project is located in La Louvière, in a residential area. The plot is a corner plot, the point of intersection between two half-lines. The corner of two streets is therefore a stopping point, a punctuation mark, it is an event in the urban fabric. Working on a corner building means giving thickness to a point. It means managing two facades that converge. Here, it is about the articulation between two different urban typologies. That of Place Matteoti surrounded by relatively high standards (ground floor + 6) with a distant view and that of the residential street composed of houses with smaller standards (ground floor + 2). The proposed building is designed as a link between these typologies. The standard is more imposing on the square side, where the public space opens up and where the setback allows for height without depriving the surroundings of light. The volume descends, then in steps to recover the cornice level of the residential buildings on Rue Léopold Dupuis. The advantage of these steps, in addition to the volumetric coherence, is that they are oriented due south and will allow the creation of quality terraces for the benefit of the residents. The green complex will be a real added value for the housing.
