As part of the cultural program “Vue Sur”, the ICA-WB asked SPECIMEN to express an architectural approach by fitting out two old gatehouses on the site of the abattoirs in Bomel (Namur). We have invested the space around the sentry boxes giving shape to two singular objects in their environment. The architecture is therefore displayed in public space under the mysterious appearance of two translucent volumes. Demonstration of a desire to see contemporary architecture come out of confidentiality and make it visible in the city, accessible to all. The volumes created around the sentry boxes fill with mist and color is projected accentuating their phantasmagorical presence and lighting up the public square. The gatehouse is at the heart of a luminous object. Its presence is highlighted by the packaging and the light but at the same time erased by the smoke.
